Anderson Connectors: Y-Connection?

After striking out trying to cram two 14-gauge ends into a single 45-amp Anderson connector, I reverted to the obvious: stripping the wires a couple inches back from existing connectors and soldering on a second set of wires/connectors.

Seems like there should be a more elegant solution.

Has anybody come up with one?
 
yeah I've got an idea, use a bigger connector, those little 45A Andersons are tiny. Get your self 1 of these :)

I don't know about elegant, but my dog style solution to that problem is to cut strands off the wires till both fit into the contactor.

What do you have that needs 45 amps anyway? You get an x5? If you are paralelling two batteries, you'll only be pulling about 12 amps through each wire, and the wires are only skinnier for about 1/4 inch.
