Hello I am Jazzjerry from the Netherlands,

Are there any other Dutch people here?

I am trying to get a forum running in the Netherlands because I think there is a big DIY lack of information in the Netherlands. All information I have been able to find about electric vehicle's is somehow related to someone trying to sell their product. So I bought a bit of webspace to start a EV community in the dutch languige. Hope you guys see this could be a good place to start an EV DIY information exchange platform for the dutch so people that are not that good at English also have a chance to read up and get inspired.

I therefore hope some of the dutch people on this board are willing to contribute some of their findings story's and Idears in this forum as wel.

Have a look at http://www.naafmotor.nl

I hope you guys will join me to get this up and running.
I could use a moderator to help me out there as well.

Best Regards,

All the best for the site mate, get the word out tothe Dutch community and i'm sure the mebership base will take off for you!!

Nice to meet you KiM,

I have an ex GF in Oz,

I lived in Atherton (Qld) for about a year and worked in Naturemanagement with the QFRI. I also have a daughter (Born in Holland) in Oz. She went back with her mum when things did not work out here in the Netherlands. She is 10 now.

I think your ex missus must be from Bladel, which is a vilage/town in the south of Holland (Brabant). I have some friends from Bladel as well. They have a great summerfest there every year.

So I know a bit about ozzie's .....

About legality here, If you want to ride an EV for free (No road tax and ensurance) without a helmet........

-You have to have a pedelec sensor,
-Max 25 KPH
-Max 250Watts
-Max 36v (if I remember correctly)

If any of these are more they see the bike as an E-bike which means:

Needs a government road acceptance certificate.
Under 25kph no helmet over helmet,
Ensurance like a moped,
Road tax and plates.

Regards,

JJ

You get 50watts more limit than us in OZ, there isn't a speed limit though, not as if 200watts is going to
get over 25kph in a hurry anywayz hehe...I wish we had a chance to register here so we could have larger
power limit...Helmets are a must IMO either way...

And yes it was Bladel...near Eindhoven i believe...:)
