Any (Preferably educated) thoughts on using Bafang G62 for a heavy cargo bike?

Playing around with the motor simulator it seems the G62 motor actually surpasses the Mac / GMac motors in terms of hill climbing ability.

I’ve been pretty impressed with the G310 in terms of build quality although sadly the bigger motors don’t use helical cut gears, so I’m starting to wonder whether I should give the G62 a try as a successor to my 10T Gmac on the cargo bike.

Any direct experience out there using this motor on heavy cargo applications? I’ll probably move down to a 24” rim, and intend to stick with a 72v phase runner system.

The Grin simulator suggests it will overheat quickly. I used a phase runner cold controller, 26” wheel to account for the tyre and 72 volt battery.

You should adjust the settings and run it through with your changes to see how it performs with corrected values to compare.
