Looking for some advice. My team is using two apt 96800 controller to control two QS 12kw car motors. The battery will be outputting 96V and 200 amps. I was worried about frying the controllers, but based on the schematic provided upon purchase is shows a built in precharge circuit within the controller. Does anyone know if the is effective? Or is an external precharge still needed? Thanks!

To me, it looks like those are external components, since the schematic says DC in after the relay.

Switch Battery+ to the B1 terminal and B- to the DC- on the controller, this will precharge the capacitors, you can make sure by measuring the DC+ with a multimeter. Once you see battery voltage on DC+ you can close B+ with a contactor or a mechanical switch
