Auto-cutoff 24V lifepo4 charger

I blew up my benchtop CC/CV PSU I was using to charge my LifePO4s.

They have a BMS, but no exposed balance leads.

The CC/CV PSU would basically stop charging once I hit 0.1 volts under the max on the cell, picked for lifetime.

In a short time crunch, is there any other dumb/smart lifepo4 charger or adjustable CC supply that is smart enough to turn off under some sort of trickle current- without balance leads?

I ... can kinda sorta tear the pack apart and solder in leads and use a hobby charger, but that won't look 'pretty' and won't make me feel safe taking it camping.

If not, maybe I skip the CPAP for a week.... or just haul the lead acids.

A normal typical power supply PSU isn't designed to turn off it's output at all (except in cases like overcurrent or undervoltage, for well-protected types).

Chargers *are* designed to do this (correctly designed ones at any rate).

So any charger that is the right current limit for your battery, and the right full voltage, should work for you.

You can use an LED PSU, like the Meanwell HLG series that I use as a charger, but like any typical PSU (even CC/CV types), it won't shut off. You'd have to disconnect it, if your BMS isn't designed to disconnect the charge port once it is completed balancing.

I do actually have a variety of meanwell PSUs from product development in a former life, and (off the cuff) they should all be CC. Whether or not they're adjustable...

I don't know anytihng about it other than what's been posted, so no idea how well (or if) it really works / does what it says on the tin, etc., but it should turn any PSU into an adjustable charger...

Bought this as a short term / recovery issue for my other PSUs. We'll see how it holds up.
