Hi

I'm looking for ideas on what might be wrong with my Bafang BBS02. I recently went through a series of odd behaviours before becoming totally unresponsive. The behaviours included:
  • not responding to the throttle
  • continuing to power when stationery at lights
  • high frequency (multiple per second) power drop outs
  • going full power when not turned on (via the display)
and now I have no power or display. I have done some diagnosis:
  • swapped out the display (for an old/cracked one) - no difference
  • swapped out the EB-BUS 1T4 cable for an old one (with a broken brake connector) - no difference
  • hooked the controller up to a laptop via a USB/serial - manage to read/write motor controller settings
I'm stuck on what to test next. Is there anything else I can check before I start buying parts?

thanks

That's pretty strange. I'd suggest opening up the controller side of the motor and re-seating all the connections. Also visually inspect for any signs of water ingress.

Running it with bafang's own firmware? Just curious, in either case the suggestion above is what should be done next.

yup - I've taken the controller off - totally dry. I guess I'll put it back together and see if it starts working.

If not - I'll start replacing parts - cheapest first.

And yes - stock Bafang firmware.
