Bafang G311 front hub speed limit

I'm sorry if this has been asked hundreds of times before but can someone please help me to increase the speed limit on my bike?

The motor is a Bafang G311 front hub connected to the colored display. The cable connecting the display to the motor is tucked up real good underneath the front suspension and I don't think it can be removed .

I can't navigate to the wheel size and speed limit options on the display.

What kit do you have? What display is it? It it KT or something else?

The G311 and G310 hub motors both use a smaller motor and more gear reduction than most gear hub motors. This makes them smaller and lighter than most geared hub motors.

Gear reduction is something like 11:1, compared to 5:1 in most hub motors. So, the motor in a G311/G310 spins more than twice the speed of most other hub motors. At high wheel speeds, high wheel rpm, it is possible for the magnets in the G3xx motors to become dislodged. That's a bad thing. There is the option of gluing the magnets, but that's not a good solution. The real solution is to use the G3xx hub motors for low speed use, 20 kph should be fine, about 12 mph. For higher speeds, with a geared hub motor, it's better to use one having the more usual 5:1 gear reduction, the MAC motor is an example.

Speed, RPM, limit is probably built into the controller, not the motor.

We use a G311 front hub motor on my wife's 24" Townie, controller is the Grin 20 amp. There is too much initial speed when the 311 starts, other than that it works just great.

There are issues with those motors at higher speeds: the magnets of the rotor can loosen. That's why bafang only releases them for 36v. I have mine laced into a 28" wheel and feed it 48V over an unlimited kt controller. Max speed is around 28-30km/h.

The link you supplied shows the M8 being a mid drive?
A front hub motor is easy to find and see what it is, since it's wide open in the middle of the wheel.
So do you have a hub motor or the mid drive they post as in the M8?

Hey Merteng, I was wondering the same have you managed to find a solution? Maybe change the display to a delimited one? Not sure if it will work with the controller
