Hi guys,

Just wanted to share some pictures of my new battery box made of clear acrylic. I believe sheets are 3mm thick. I used Tensol-12 cement for glueing the acrylic, works very well.

It is pretty easy to build, which is a pretty solid battery box. I might wrap it in some carbon fibre vinyl or just leave it clear as it is now.

The pack then goes into DIY frame bag.

Looks good, you could easily have used coloured acrylic as well to match the colour of your bike to save you wrapping it later, great job

What did you use to make the cuts?

Just a Stanley type of knife. Simply score along the cut you want to make 2-3 times with a sharp Stanley knife and then you can easily snap it.

Below is a nice video explaining that. The guy used a special knife, but you can use just a Stanley knife works very well.

Good work!.. I tried to make a box from Acrylic once and the cutting didn't turn out perfect. Maybe I was going for too long of a cut, making it more difficult to get perfect. I need to fab up a box piece for a project I'm working on. I think I will give it another try with acrylic since yours looks quite nice.

Thanks! I didn't get it perfect. Some cuts weren't nice, but either way the box is going to be inside a frame bag.

I think my problem was that I was using some cheap knife, make sure you buy a more expensive one with a nice and sturdy blade so it does not slide while scoring acrylic sheets.

Will do. Thanks for the advice.
