batterypack sources?

I am trying to find a source for lifepo4 batterypack that has a charger that can balance the cells. I need 72volts or 2x36volts at 48amps continuous and am willing to spend $500.00. I would like to get 15-20amphr.I have read a lot and I see a lot of info about lifepo4 batteries but no place that sells non china made packs.
I was going to use dewalt packs but after reading about them disabling/enabling the bms along with cells going out of balance scares me.
Is there a good pack and charger available currently? Question 2 Can someone build a pack and charger for me? I may as well explain things I bought a 5304 motor and this controller: 36-72V 48A Start Immediate Digital Controller (IRFB4110 Mosfets) and a cycle anylist from ebikes.ca. I would like to get lifepo4 batteries and have a setup that is easy to charge. I like the looks of the lifebatt batteries but they do not seem to be for sale. ebikes says they have some but they are not for sale. What gives? I sure can build a dewalt or whatever pack but there must be something available for people who are just getting started.

Sorry, But unless I am mis reading your message, I dont think you will find anything in your price range except SLA.

Or did I misread something.
72volts 15AH minimum, 48A continous, charger and balancing for $500

ebikes.ca has 5c 8ah nicads 36v for 250 each, & they also sell the chargers. This is a bit better than sla's and in your price range!

Prepare to spend over $1000 for that kind of setup or take a chance with duct tape packs. Nimh 18ah 36 volts x 2 from ebikes. The new latest 2d nimh cells. $$$$$

Whoa talk about timing ebikes has lipo4 36v battery packs for $700 each. They have 40amp continuous rating and 12ah. This bike is going to cost me a killing so I hope it is worth it lol. I had just convinced myself to go with two $680 nextel nickel metal packs but I am glad I waited. $1450 for charger 2 36v packs and they have their own bms designed for ebikes I can't be happier.

Update on clearpowersolutions.com apparently they are charging 75$ for a single brick 12V 12 AH.

The closest thing you will find to your desire is going to be lipo from Hobby King. But the cost will be higher. 72v 4.5 ah is about $250 including shipping. That's two of the 10s long packs that are priced at $100. To charge em though, you'll need a 10s charger, and a power supply, costing at least another $250 not including shipping, or maybe even $300. Plus a few other items to monitor the pack, so call it an even $1200. But you could start out with just 4 of the packs, and have 9 ah of 72v. That would bring it below a thou.

But at least then you have a pack that can put out the amps, 30 c discharge rate x 13.5 = 410 amps. So a couple hundred amps continuous would be no problem for that pack.

The other alternatives will be more work, like assembling your own headway pack from loose 10 ah cells. But the safety of lifepo4 could be worth it.

If you went the pingbattery route, you'd need 30 ah of 72v to have the discharge rate you want without damaging the battery, so about $2000 to do it that way. And you'd be toting 40 pounds.

This is why people build their own. I am building a pack from dead toolpacks, while others purchase the Toolking Dewalt packs of 26650 A123 cells and use them.

I have bought a CBA III for 200 to test cells
I am working on a load bank to discharge cells so that I can watch the voltage, and thereby weed out the bad cells
I will also be starting very soon to work on a charging setup which will probably consist of a home station with balancing, and a take-along charger.
Together, I expect these chargers to cost about 200
I will also build the Ggoodrum/Fechter BMS which should cost about 120

Startup equipment is about 400
each pack (with take along charger) will be about 150 assuming 75 for charger, free cells, and some miscellaneous connectors, shrinkwrap etc.

This is my best shot at a good solution. My research showed that for my LiFePo ideal pack of 50v and 10 ah, I was looking at 700-900 to have someone else build it.

If you have a better idea, or better prices, let me know.
