BBS02 pinion gear bearing

The inboard bearing isn’t staying set into the nylon gear cover. Replaced the bearing and cover. Nylon gear is ok.

I've replaced just that bearing, and iirc., i had to knock the bearing in with a hammer
and the old outer bearing race to get it seated all the way(had no press to push with).

Did the hammer trick work?

Yes.

Pressed it in with arbor press. Still popping out.

After struggling with the pinion gear bearing not staying seated in the nylon gear cover now when I pull the cover the bearing is stuck on the gear shaft. How do I remove it?
