Hey Everyone.

I am looking for the beltline specification for Bafang Ultra. I found this manual on Gates website but it doesn't specifically mention any Bafang mid drives. https://www.gatescarbondrive.com/~/media/files/gcd/gates-cd-ebike-compatibility.pdf

I read on another forum that that chainline for Bafang Ultra with the E1 (https://www.bafang-e.com/en/components/component/accessoires/cw-e1e1xxxxx.html) sprocket is 48. Is that the same as the beltline ?

Can anyone provide any pointers on this ? I am trying to pair it with a Shimano rear hub.

Thanks.

Actually, @spinningmagnets, in this article (https://www.electricbike.com/gates-belt-bbs02/) you mention chainline... is it fair to assume that is also the beltline ?

Thanks

Great question. Not sure but looks like it. I just PMd spinningmagnets. Let's see what he says.

I have been wrong before, but...I am certain that the phrase belt line means the same as chainline.

It is the distance (in millimeters) from the centerline of the frame, to the centerline of the chain/belt.

On a similar note, the Term "Q-Factor" is commonly used to describe the width of a device, and the "Q" comes from the word quadricept (*the large frontal thigh muscle). When you are sitting on a bicycle seat, the width of the pedals can be a huge help, or a constant and mild annoyance.

Women especially tend to have wider hips compared to men, so pressing down on you legs when the pedals are too close together for your body shape, or if the pedals are too far apart...it can lead to serious orthopedic issues if you ride 100 miles a week.

Like braces on your teeth, the pressure is very light, but....the pressure is there 24 hours a day.
