Hi

I have searched and searched everywhere I know and cant find any info on this controller.
Ive been trying to figure out how to unlock the speed limit on it.
Does anyone here know this model?

On the board it says: LSW6G-90B-EMC-150720

Sticker text: LSW1010-17F X18050224
CE:G3M20211-1592-16

The bike has a ton of power right up till it cuts power at 25 kmh.
If I could get it to 30-32 I would be happy.

Don't know the specific model, but it is a LiShui (Li Shui, LS) "brand", and my guess is that you have an LCD on the bike by KingMeter (though it may have the bike's brand name on it instead).

If you look thru my posts for the Fusin 1000w test bike thread, in the Reviews and Testing section, there's a tiny bit of info about that brand in there, as that's what Fusin used. It should include the info on how to use the three buttons (if you have them) to get into the settings on the LCD (if you have one).

If you have no LCD or buttons, you probably can't change the speed limit. (there's no jumpers, pads, or wires for this on the LS controllers that I am aware of)

You might not be able to change it above where it is now, anyway, if they've disabled the option, or if it's at the max for that controller.

Sometimes you can lie to it and tell it you have a different wheel size and get a different speed limit, but the speedometer reading will also be wrong.

Hi amberwolf

Yes there is a display on my bike.
Its a Bafang C965 with 3 buttons. But its renamed/rebranded under som other name.

I have tried changing the settings via the display. I have changed Speed Limit setting to 30, 35 and 40 and it made no differences.
Then I tried changing the wheel size. When I lower wheel size setting, it goes slower. When I increase the size the speed is unchanged.
(It has 28" wheels and the max I can set via the display is 29", so a very very small change.)
I think the Speed Limit is fixed or done by hardware inside the controller.

I hoped someone could say, cut this wire, or short these pins. But I guess another controller is the only way.

Thanks for reply though :)

Does it use a wheel speed sensor? If so, maybe try disconnecting it and see if it goes faster. Without a signal from the wheel, it may cause it to shut down after a short time, but should run long enough for a quick test.

There may be on overriding speed limit based on the motor hall signals. This would be hard to get around.

If changing the limits in the display doesn't change behavior, then they have locked it in the firmware of the controller, so the MCU is ignoring any user-set parameters for certain things, and just doing what it's been told to at the factory.

Most likely your only options would be either:

-- checking to see if one of Casainho's projects can reprogram the LiShui controllers (which will give you a lot more options),

or

-- seeing if there is manufacturer firmware out there that will update teh controller to change options available,

or

-- replacing the controller with one you know is not limited. Preferably one that is also compatible with your existing LCD so you don't have to replace that, too.

I don't know of anything in the hardware itself that will change what you can do with it, unless it is using a separate speed sensor from the motor halls to monitor and limit speed. If it is, then you could put an electronic divider circuit in there to lower the measured speed, so it would think you were going slower than actual, and then you could go up to double the original speed without hitting the limiter (though the bike may not have the power to actually double it's speed).
