The cheaper the better… within reason

Looking at the Toseven DM02, Tongsheng TSDZ2B/TSDZ8 etc…

Ideally I’d like to keep it under/around $650 USD including everything I need. Happy to buy off AliExpress in order to save some money…

Any other contenders?

DM02. TSDZ2B is outdated with many flaws in design like for example bad heat dissipation and no temperature monitoring. You can literally fry this motor if you keep using it above rated 250W. Torque sensor is also not very reliable. Blue nylon gear is also very prone to failures.

TSDZ8 with current official firmware can not be tweaked by user.

not that many options tbh but i could try a few ;

1. TSDZ2 : by far cheapest option, should not be ran at too much power to keep it somewhat "reliable", open source firmware is recommended, enough replacement parts available.

2. TSDZ8 : seems to be around 400$ from china, supposedly all or most problems from tsdz2 are fixed.
design wise it looks pretty good from outside and seems to have good updated internals, except torque sensor which might be the same. other than that not much information out there on this motor since not many people have bought it yet.

3. DM02 by ToSeven : could be the best option, might also work with 60v battery, looks like the tsdz2 from outside but the inside is completely different, i think the controller goes up to 19a, could be the best option out of the three. havent looked much into this motor but users seem to be satisfied apart from some early firmware bugs which should be resolved
