Hi peeps.

I am about to buy a new charger for my 48V e-bike battery. When I had a look I see they come in all sorts of different ampages and I have no idea how this relates to battery charging. Is it a case of higher will charge faster but both it and the battery will get hoter along with a potential reduction in battery life? If so is there a sweet spot for a 48v pack (14aH)?

you need to match what the battery is able to handle for cahrging. 2A (amp) is usually safe. what was the original charger? match taht and it should be ok.

too high and you can damage or break the bms charging fets, or even overheat the cells and damag ehtem or start a fire.

AmberWolf to my rescue again :). Thank you.

All of these things sound realy bad. I think Iwill stick with 2A. I would rather take a bit longer and be less "explody".
