Best fast-shipped LiFePO4 battery pack available?

Hey guys, this is my first post so take it easy on me. :)

I've spent weeks reading the forums and only just now registered. I have a situation where I need to have the batteries at my doorstep in two weeks (at most). Unfortunately this eliminates ordering from Ping or cell_man. I don't have a preference if the batteries are American-assembled or shipped directly from the far east, but I do want quality and I have the time consideration. (I'm not going to buy ebay batteries).

Of the battery pack offerings ready to ship on US shores, which would you recommend? I've read about the AllCell pack but I am wary of the 1C/2C rate issue with the batteries they are using.

What I'm looking for: 48v 10ah, lithium, already assembled with BMS & ready to go (can be 12/13ah, doesn't have to be exactly 10)

Again looking for what you'd recommend of what's available in North America now. Thanks!

I mean shipping, not removal from the bicycle. I've spent weeks reading the forums and only just now registered, but I think I'm finally up to speed on batteries (which is what my question is about). I see the value in Ping but I am in a situation where I need the batteries on my doorstep within two weeks (at most). I don't have a preference if the batteries are American-assembled or shipped directly from the far east, but I do have the time consideration. Price is a concern, but within reason. I'm not going to buy ebay batteries and I'm flexible to spend as long as it's not absolute gouging for faster delivery.

Of the battery pack offerings ready to ship on US shores, which would you recommend? I've read about the AllCell pack from Chicago (which would likely meet my criteria, but I am wary of the 1C/2C rate issue with the batteries they are using). I like what I've read from Ping, but his site indicates a week to put it together + long shipping times - and I haven't gotten responses on faster shipping options via email yet.

What I'm looking for: 48v 10ah, lithium, already assembled with BMS & ready to go (can be 12/13ah, doesn't have to be exactly 10)
What I'm not looking for: kits or loose batteries I have to assemble myself

Again looking for what you'd recommend of what's available in North America now. Not looking for alternative battery voltage/amperage suggestions either, just 48/10 or thereabouts. Thanks!

I have a used Golden Motor 48V 10Ah LiFePO4 in an aluminum case that I'm wanting to sell:

http://www.goldenmotor.ca/products/48V10AH-LiFePO4-Aluminum-Cased-Battery.html

It comes with 1 charger and I have a spare charger for it as well. I paid just under $600 for them delivered to my door from Canada. I would be willing to sell it for $400 shipped ground in the continental US (Battery and 2 chargers)

I could ship it using a faster method if you want to pay the difference.

If you don't want to buy mine used. I can still recommend Golden Motors and their batteries. Gary is a great guy to deal with and they have quality parts. Shipping to the US took just under a couple weeks.

ABT I have an allcell pack I can tell you its the most well built reliable pack I've ever used. Bms is inside the pack.

Its a little.more expensive than the Chinese packs but well worth the cost in my opinion. I bought mine in 2011 and it runs awseome still.

I appreciate the responses everyone.

I'm in Seattle, WA (nothing in classifieds matches my needs though, unfortunately) - and I actually need two of these packs (for two bikes) so a single used pack wouldn't get me there. I forgot to say that I looked at cell_man too and I would order from him except there's no way to guarantee shipment in 2 weeks. Argh.

Jason how long did it take you to receive the pack after ordering? Thanks!

Mine came in 12 days from chicago electric bikes.

Hmm ..you should have asked earlier, then you would not be so time constrained !

Also you dont mention what C rate ( max or continuous amp draw), you need, other than your unease over the 1-2 C allcell rating ?

Ha, don't I know it. Hindsight, 20/20, and all that...

I would prefer a pack that can handle at least a continuous 2C load. Many of the nicer packs I've seen are closer to 4C-6C. I read the big merged thread in sale forum about the AllCells not being truly 2C and actually being 1C which only peak at 2C (and being more appropriate for low-power situations).

The discussion is ultimately beyond what I understand, but from the sounds of the posters in the thread it sounded like 1C was something to avoid. If I understand it wrong please do correct me! :)

I don't really want to skimp on quality, I just want something quickly.

Are you sure Cell-man can't get to you in time?
It took me a week, ordered new side covers wed got it next thursday.

Ask him now, times a wastin.

Dan

Battery might take longer, especially if they have to be assembled prior to shipping.

Ask them at Grin cyclery how long it would take to get a battery from them. You are damn close to Grin, but unfortunately it still involves customs. Not lifepo4, but then, neither is the Allcell pack.

I'd say ask who can get it to you fastest, Grin or Chicago Electric Bikes.

I have occasionally seen Ping style Lifepo4 sold by an Ebayer in New York or New Jersey.

Re the C rates, if it says 2c, use it at 1c. That's my simple advice on c rates. Why I keep saying buy a 15 ah pack, because 25 mph often takes 12-15 amps on bikes, and you can cruise full throttle at about 1c then.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice!

I guess it doesn't have to be LiFePO4 per se, but I would prefer Lithium as I'm concerned about weight and battery maintenance/longevity. I tried contacting Grin yesterday but didn't get a response. I tried contacting FalconEV as well, no response (is it odd so many vendors don't respond?)

Fortunately I was able to reach someone at e-bike who did confirm they could get me an AllCell pack in time. That just might be my only option (at least its 13ah and not 10). Thanks everyone for the assistance.

someone in seattle is trying to sell a 72V cell-man pack, jimmyD at headway headquarters is right there, ping can send you a pack by DHL. i can send you a pack from portland or you can pick it up.

Thanks Dan, I had already sent an inquiry to cell_man and am just waiting for his response. :)

I did hear back from Ping, actually, and he said he could assemble the pack in a week and that I would receive it in a week - but I'm skeptical since that contradicts what his website describes about the shipping and in my previous experiences ordering stuff from China, nothing has ever taken just a week. I can't imagine batteries, heavier & with stricter transport controls, would ship faster?

Has anyone in the US received batteries from China in a week? That sounds very difficult.

Cell_man might be able to get you one in time since you are on the west coast. I've used SAL option with him and received my order in 8 days from shipment using SAL option. He recommend this option as the "land" portion of the shipping was very short since I live in Los Angeles.

Golden Motor in Canada took 8 days to Los Angeles as well using Canada Post.

BTW, why the hurry? I wouldn't make a long term choice based on short term wait times. Maybe you have some constraint? Going to a race?
