Best half grip throttle

I'm ordering a throttle this week, and am trying to get the most reliable one available. It is my understanding the magura twistgrip is the way to go. However, Id rather have a half grip throttle, since I do pedal a lot. Any suggestions? Can I modify the magura into a half grip? Thanks!

Yeah, I guess you could cut half the throttle tube off, but there is a bushing that goes in there to keep the two halves of the grip from rubbing. I never had any problems with the cheapo units, but the best one by far is the one modd'ed by Lyen to go on the left side. Same unit, just for the left which leaves my right hand free to shift.
Ebike ca sells them too, but they are out of stock.

I see more complaints about throttles. But the closest I ever came to breaking one is breaking off the plastic thumb tab. In about 10,000 miles of riding, not on just one throttle though. So cheap, carrying a spare is an option if you do high mileage.

All of them suck for fine throttle controll. Fine for riding wot or off though.

Cheap full grip throttles easily cut in half to make into half grip. Thumb throttles convert to half grip by gluing on an inch or so of 1" pvc pipe, with pipe glue.
