BESV PSF1 HMI broken — will a generic UART2 H6C display work as replacement?

My BESV PSF1's HMI (display unit) has died and I'm looking for a replacement. Official BESV parts are expensive and hard to source, so I found a cheap aftermarket color LCD display on AliExpress(url: t.ly/StVoY) with the following specs:
  • Communication: UART2 H6C
  • Voltage: 24V / 36V / 48V / 60V
  • Holder: 22.2 / 25.4 / 28.6 / 31.8mm
  • USB charging: 5V 500mA
  • IP67 rated

The stock HMI uses a 5-pin connector.
My questions:
  1. Does anyone know what communication protocol the BESV PSF1 controller uses?
  2. Has anyone successfully replaced the PSF1 HMI with a generic aftermarket display?
  3. If the protocol doesn't match, is there any workaround?

Any insight appreciated. Thanks!

I don't have any particulars about your system but the rule of thumb is that nearly always displays need to be matched to the controller. Communication protocols. Successful mix and match is extremely rare. Goes double for factory ebikes with proprietary systems and components (non-commodity).
