Seems really cheap for 2400 lumens ?

Can anyone recommend a really bright E-bike light ? I had the cycle lumanetor from ebikes.ca, which I sold. It was very bright but is really suitable for trails, for road use I found that the light was way too scattered and not focused where it should be for road use.

Ideally I want something I can use off the bike battery. I have a 12 volt regulator somewhere I can use, it's hard to get a led light without a battery.

I need something to light up the road ahead going at 30+ mph, on twisty dark country roads. Potholes are very common and I need to light up the road as much as possible.

I love my dual XML light... one aimed lower and other aimed higher you can have thoses without batteries. But the lights are 8.4v, some people do run thoses at 12v but I would use another dc-dc converter to avoid overheating.
Btw dual XML is mostly an overkill, I hardly use the two lights together.

Geomangear is the place to get it their customer services are amazing.

Thanks for the link,

That looks the job and without battery which is what I want!

I have a 12V 10 amp regulator, but I'd be worried about running it at 12V!

There is a shitload of ppl that does run thoses light at 12v im just too picky and decided not too coz the converter is also cheap.
Something like this works for lights.

I just have the standard Magic Shine 900 Lumen MJ 808 single headlamp:

You can buy a proper female plug from a local electronics store for less than $5, and have no fear of running at 12V, it will actually run cooler at 12V than the standard 9V that they supply with a battery pack.

I have now had two of these headlamps, and the only reason I don't still have my first one up and running, is that I accidentally hit it with full pack voltage and fried it!

The one I am using now is used on a continuous basis, day and night, and I have some nasty pot-holes to avoid on the busy street that I ride along on a regular basis, and even in the fast flashing mode, it gives me great visibility.

I would be happier with a little more focus of the beam, and I only ride at about 18 - 20 MPH most of the time, so I can't say if this will be enough for 30 MPH, but at 24 MPH, I can still see far enough ahead to feel comfortable. :)

Im chaining this.

72v (did not blow at 24s lifepo fully charged) to 12v

and this

So I can run alot of 12v stuff (120w) and my 8.4v magicshine lights

Good for you scorpion, a decent light with a good price.

Just check some reviews like this one to see if the beam pattern pleases you

But I can tell some car driver move aside at night when Im coming thinking its a 1100cc motorcycle or something like it so they dont wanna be in the way.

I found this and bought it, it's from the U.K and should arrive in a much shorter time!

That's good alright gensem, 900 lumens, the one I ordered is 1800 ! Though I know the extra light will be great for the unlit country roads, and the price is great too!

Scorpion , make sure its not counterfit coz I had problem with magicshine lights on ebay and the price seems fishy to me, besides 1800w rating is way off. Ordering magicshine from ebay is too much of glambe for me and thats why I always tell everyone to order from geomangear.

this is the price range you should be seeing in UK, maybe a little less, but not half

If it a real magicshine is cheap even if throw the battery that comes with it in the dumpster. My problem was that only the case seemed like the real thing, after receiving the geomangear one is was sure it was fake and trashed the one I got on ebay. Granted it was half the price but I dont like to support chinese counterfit crap.

Give it a try, It might suit your needs.
I said I hardly use two lights, to be truth is I hardly use one at 100%. I use one at 100% when there is no car on the streets otherwise I tone it down.

If it is the cree xm-l, it can output 100 lumens per watt, so it would have to consume 10 watts for 1000 lumens.

I guess I won't be able to tell the lumens it outputs!

Why dont you cancel the order if thats bugging you. I did cancel ebay orders several times because of my itchy finger and low paycheck situation.

Also, there was a huge recall on the battery MS packs a while back, and I would suspect that if you get one so cheap, it's battery is going to be questionable at best, dangerous at worst.

I came across this little monster today with a nice price tag to match. It claims 2700 lumens but it probably much lower. Even if you got 2,000 lumens it would still be very good.

Although it doesn't have the separate switch of the Magicshine 1400 which is very handy,

370 pound for a light is a nice price? What are you smoking?

The irony detector isn't working today.

The last few posts made me laugh like mad!

Sam doesn't Understand our lingo!

Sorry sam not taking the Mick, but "nice" in this situation means exactly the opposite!

Yes we are strange on this side of the pont aren't we ?

There's no way that thing can output 1800 lumens. Specs on a Cree T6 are 975 lumens max so probably about 800 lumens typical.
So if you'd be happy with that then I say go for it!

BTW... original Magic Shine lights used Seoul Semicondoctor's SSC P7 LED emmitters (not Cree) which were rated at 900 lumens max (but only 700-800 lumens typical) but that's 2-3 year old technology so the Cree T6 is slightly better.

Yep I saw the cree specs, I asked for a refund and linked him to the specs, so I'll see if I get a refund or not. If it ends up being really bright anyway then I guess it's still fairly cheap!

someone else on the board pointed out these lights to me , but so far I have 2 of them and use old laptop power supplies to downconvert my 75v to 12v.
Work great using one for close and far can ride full throttle in the dark with minimal worries.

I have a few magicshines also 900lumen and while they do good they don't penetrate the darkness like the led's above.

I even found a US distributor for the lights if anyone is interested. Comparing the HK and the USA one they seem identical.
