Bike Light

If I had the proper measurement equipment, I would say that the XML is almost hitting 700 lumens and the new one is about 1k maybe a tad bit over it.

Light came, went for a spin tonight. Pitch dark roads at 30+ mph are no problem at all. It's very bright and the beam is perfect.

How many lumens is it? Hard to say but it looks brighter than the 1000 lumen one on bikes.ca, or maybe it's the way the beam is focused? But either way I find it better and for the money it's fantastic!

someone else on the board pointed out these lights to me , but so far I have 2 of them and use old laptop power supplies to downconvert my 75v to 12v.
Work great using one for close and far can ride full throttle in the dark with minimal worries.

I have a few magicshines also 900lumen and while they do good they don't penetrate the darkness like the led's above.

I even found a US distributor for the lights if anyone is interested. Comparing the HK and the USA one they seem identical.

I bought one of these lights from the same seller last year. A 12V 24V LED Aux Spot Light Scooter Snowmobile Hummer RV.
Great lights, im thinking of getting another.

Tom

Check out DealExtreme for flashlights. http://www.dealextreme.com/

The lumen ratings on all of these flashlights are bogus, as with most others

I just bought my second flashlight there- which can take up to 12.6v input.

this one (and a few others) have three XM-L leds - http://www.dealextreme.com/p/fandyfire-f-3800-xm-lt6-1-mode-2000lm-3-led-white-flashlight-1-x-18650-2-x-18650-3-x-18650-92125

They also have a selection of cheap bike-specific lights. They all include batteries tho, which isn't ideal

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/cree-t6-dual-xpe-r2-3-mode-1800-lumen-3-led-white-bike-light-w-battery-pack-105489
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/t6-waterproof-xml-t6-3-mode-1200-lumen-white-led-bike-light-with-battery-pack-set-82510

I got a little carried away on my last order a bought a bunch of other stuff...
and if you get 18650 batteries, get these ones.

around 600 i think scorpion... maybe 700... but its very bright.

It's bright alright. I Just came back from a spin and a few cars flashed at me, so I must be blinding them, I didn't meet any cars last night to get flashed.

So what I did was when a car came I pointed the light down and lifted it up again after, not ideal but hey it works!

I get that all the time, thats why I hardly use it at 100%... best would be to have a switch for med/high near your thumb.

Yes that would be ideal, there is a switch on the back for a lower setting but it's not easy to press while doing 30+ mph, I like to keep my hands on the handlebars. But I can quickly point it up or down.

Notice how everything for bicycles is so expensive though?

A set of hid kits for a car would cost less than some of these bicycle lights.

A set of car brake disk and pads would not cost what some bicycle brakes do. It's crazy!

Granted it was half the price but I dont like to support chinese counterfit crap.
I hope you realise that magicshine started by copying the lupine tesla 4. In fact the early magicshines were terrible quality and very cheap (the tesla 4 originally sold for ~$420). Granted knock-offs on ebay are probably worse quality but magicshine don't have any kind of moral superiority over them.

If the ebay light works then use it, the only thing is that you might want to open it up and give it a little TLC
