acme motor bikes will have there bike show and race at the lil indy go kart track in carrothers ohio, located on st. route 4 in central ohio on june 5th, we also can stay over to the 6th if needed. the event is free no cost to you, there will be camping available.
racing on the 1/10th mile dirt oval track, a bike show, meet and greet, and if theres enough interest we may put on a bike building seminar or contest.
any vendors or just anyone selling parts are welcome to come and set up a table for free. maybe even get a swap meet going.
if your interested in attending post in here so we can get an idea of how many may show.

Just too far for me Dangit.

I have a pair of BMX pants a bit too small for me if somebody needs them. 36 waist, but a little short in the leg for me , good for somebody 5'9" or shorter. I'm 5-11. 22" on the inseam from crotch to hem. Probobally just designed short to keep em out of the chain, and I have nicer new ones that fit me better. My wife found em at the trift store for 2 bucks. I could send em for the ten bucks it will cost to put em in a flat rate box. Anybody interested I could post a pic.

Very nice bike too camlifter. Love the tank, and that doesn't look like the stock exhaust!

that bike is a huffy cranebrook with steel formed around the frame to make the tank. the pipe is an expansion chamber i made and the motor has a lot of port work, the jug is raised .100in to raise the ports, then a .100 was taken off the top of the jug, ported and polished and the head cut down a little. it does 35mph and has really good low end power. with a 36 tooth rear sprocket it will do right at 40 mph but the 44 tooth gives better low end power. last year it went faster than i wanted to go around the track, i was letting off in the turns like a pansy.

Hi Camlifter,
I plan on making the trip down, I bought a 49cc motor kit from Kings, But have absolutly no time to add that to my to-do list......I have several semi-built electrics to bring down... I am really thinking of riding my streched out comuter (tidal force frame). But I also have a left turn only project started. too many things to do...I should take a week off from work & clean up my projects list

The track looks like well worn clay & very hard packed. Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather.
Looking foward to meeting up with you & the guy's & seeing all the handi work. Your bike is very nice. (I suspect you have more)
T

sounds great thud, bring some friends too. we'll have a few bikes there, i'm sure we'll be able to hook some riders up who can't bring a bike. just make sure everyone has a helmet.

Just watched the video, looks like you need to just about coast the straights, and then gas the corners. The camera position makes it look like a perfect circle in the video, but for sure the straights are pretty short. Have fun!

Just a little over 3 weeks to go. I plan on being there to take some pix... too old, and too big to ride though. I got the nick bigMoose for a reason...

Hey bigmoose,
too old, and too big to ride though
HEHE! we all are.....I have been on a training regiem b-moose, (mostly 1 push up a day...up & away from the dinner table!) I am down to 225#s from 240...racing weight is 190ish  & I am way closer to 50 than 40. I keep sending the AARP letters back that come in the mail...denial is my middle name

Looking foward to meeting you. I am sure to have my bike pictured here for you to recognize & I normaly run with a #40 somewhere on the bike.
Any other sphereites coming to the event?

Thanks Thud! I'm the big guy, topped at 6'6" before I rolled the vehicle over and crushed a few vertebrae, gray beard, near 60... oh, and I'll have a camera. I'm working my way down too, but from 340 with the help of the KMX trike and springtime chores... down about 34.

I would love to come out there and meet you Moose, but I'm in Atlanta right now for an undetermined amount of time... :(

THis event is a 7-hour hour drive from Geoegia. Is it just that oval dirt track man cmon they gotta do better than that.

Good talking to you tonight Luke! I'm sure sooner or later, we will get in the same part of the country at the same time. Enjoy the south eastern part of our country. It's a little calmer there, and the hospitality is awesome! Good luck on your assignment too.

I'm in a north-east suburb of Atlanta called Norcross. Are you a night owl? I'm down for meeting somewhere and getting dinner tonight, or tomorrow if you're not a night owl. lol

it doesn't look like much but it's a load of fun, 10 laps make a mile. plus we have the track to ourselfs for the weekend so you can ride it as much as you want. and you'll get to meet some fellow motorbikers.
link to tracks web site. http://www.lil-indy.com/

Anbody thinks a dirt oval is no fun hasn't done much countersteering. Too slow to countersteer would be less fun though.

Flat traking is good clean fun. I hope the track is groomed to the point I can get sideways.....real sidways 8)

I have 2 more box gussets to add to my left turn bike. (a bike that will prolly become a 1000w bracket racer to line up with safe some day.) My dirt track tires should be on the porch when I get home. hopefully I will have the bike all built & drive lines settled by friday.

Any one ever use a ev logix's throtlizer? In the name of expediancy I may just run a "pure" rc setup at 44v.
I just finished the 121 tooth rear sprocket, direct drive ala speedway & geared for 40mph for the 1st practice laps. We will adjust to suit from there.
I am so looking foward to this event.

40 mph sideways, YUM.

Please tell me you are bringing two bikes to the death race if you build a 1000 watt bike to race Safe.

At least 2 dogman!
(and a gaser also to practice on & learn the track) Big moose is bringing a camera & I have my lil turnigy video unit I am dying to try out on a bike. Once I get this bike built i am on to the road racer build. That should be my summer right there!
Off to the garage now for the final welding session....

Now there's an Idea! Practice on a 30 mph gasser to learn the track, and save the lipo for the main event. Hmm, my brother in law has a gasser.

satilight photo of the track:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Carrothers&state=OH&country=US&latitude=40.9981&longitude=-82.922203&geocode=CITY

upper right corner of map-click on "areial photo's" & zoom in. The track looks like the main attraction In Carrothers Ohio. I bet the saturday night kart events are a blast!

Looks easy to find! There appears to be about 8 homes in Carrothers...
