Hi guys, Just saw this on Gizmag:

An article about the Bionicon bottom bracket mounted mid drive.
I have done a search on E-S and there are a few references to it a couple of years ago, but not (as far as I could see) in the "Non Hub Motors" section.
Fairly low power but light, unobtrusive and looks really easy to mount (although there are no specific details or photos). Said to work with 73mm wide BSA threaded bottom bracket frames. Presumably with 5mm of spacers it could also work with 68mm wide BB frames.
Here's a short You Tube video with a small amount of information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NwL4nygEeU
And here is the manufacturer's website.. with the claim that it "can be fitted to every bike": http://www.b-labs.org/e-ram-motor/
Apparently there is a 30:1 "Ecccentric gear" reduction between the motor rotor and the crank, and the ability to pedal in either direction without resistance from the motor.
There is also mention of torque sensing and speed sensing.
I haven't studied the information thoroughly yet, but on the information available it seems to be a well thought out, easy to mount drive if you are only after 250 W assist.
Does anyone have personal experience of these drives, or more information?
Dave
