Does anyone use BionX battery packs? I've decided I don't want to build a battery system from scratch on my very first build and I am really interested in going with BionX because of the Sony Manganese Lithium batteries (Thanks Doc, lol).

Anyway, I'd like to know how they stack up. As well, I was wondering if you could use 2x 36V systems in conjunction with each other without any messing around. Also, can you buy BionX battery system without buying a kit? I can't find a website that sells them separately. I don't want to buy a kit because I plan to go with the 408 motor, the 500W BionX battery has less torque (Apparently).

Oh yeah, what Ah does the system run at? Can't find any specs.

Thanks much.

I've never used the bionx system or battery cells but here is my 52.8v Emutt.

1.Tidalforce Mframe
2.Wavecrest A hub with 30dewalt a123cells 33v (3 10cell packs 2.3ahr x 3 = 6.9ahr)
3. External dewalt pack to complete the 9.2ahr
4. Crystalyte motor + controller 503
5. Bionx battery housing containing 24dewalt a123 cells 19.8v 9.2ahr (4 6cell packs) (possible to fit 30cells)
6. Main hub on/off switch

Wow, that is a sweet setup. Did you buy the BionX battery housing without the cells inside? If so/not where did you get it?

See, I would really like to use just the 36V BionX battery pack x2.

But I need to know a few things.

1) I know the BionX controller restricts current to keep it under a certain speed. Does the battery housing have any funky stuff like that.
2) What is the 36V system rated at in Ah.
3) Can I buy a standalone battery pack without the controller, motor and other crap.

I really want to use the BionX CASING if nothing else. It is a lot more compact than the empty crystalyte one I found and I'd be able to fit 2 on a bike.

Similar... if not identical... casings, including a bigger "48v" one.

Then click on "Battery Boxes".
