I have Dutch family that came to Australia in the fifty's, heres some photos of a family members business transport bikes, they call them bakfiets or roughly translated container bike

Awesome links and pics folks... THANKS! My eyes were sorta opened to cargo bikes some years ago while living in a "car free community"...

Zipcar Car-Sharing program
Does anyone else use this? I just signed up. Groupon is offering a one-year membership for $30 today. I know it doesn't have anything to do with electric vehicles, but they do have some hybrids available, and with a combination of programs like this this and electric bikes, a lot of people would be able to get rid of their personal cars.

I plan on using it once a month or so to pick up large items or do things that you just can't do on a bicycle. Beats shelling out money for car payments, insurance, and gas!

Buddy. Ya can take this to a new level? Fab yerself a serious cargo ebike (etrike?) and rent THAT out to yer fellow Chicagoans... Fluck yer Zipcars...

Hehe... I love the guy `cept he trained as a lawyer plus AFAIK not so ebike-friendly. Still, ya could pack a lotta Li in his Blue Bell trailer:
