bluetooth BMS?

I have SP30S005 model.
In the app and pc software there is gps speed check function available.
How sim card module can only be related with gps functionality? Bms is not a smartphone.

Why would you think just having GPS - a receive only, one-way protocol - would mean it has an anti-theft tracking feature?

As stated, the latter requires a SIM, cellphone data communication.

Difference between "necessary" and "sufficient"!

Also they would not be so cheap.

Not to mention, there would have been some discussion on the topic.

I'm just asked here if built in gps can be used as anti-theft tracking feature. Car navigation systems exist maybe 10-20 years already without mobile network provider support.

The answer is no, can we move along now? Thanks

Again, GPS alone is not enough for anti-theft, navigation does not require mobile data

anti-theft **does** require mobile data!

Just put your thinking cap on. . .

Where do you see a word about required sim card\mobile data?
Of course to use\download the bms app\software you have to have mobile data or wifi\cable connection with internet access.

That crazy URL does not work from here.

Start a new thread for this anti-theft topic, that really has nothing to do with BMS functionality, and especially not bluetooth.

Question: what other comms protocol connects between your phone and your onboard alert / tracking device, as it's driven around the countryside or locked up in a building somewhere?

As previously suggested, you should buy that BMS, and when you have it working, start a new thread about it.

I know that the cell counts are configurable in the PC software, but can they be set below the range that they are advertised as being capable of handling?

For example, if I buy the 15S version of the 10S-15S BMS linked below, can I configure the BMS to work properly on 8S? I am running 8S right now but am planning to upgrade to 12S in the future.
LLT Power 10S-15S, 20A-60A BMS

Thanks!

Can anyone explain this? The app and the BMS itself is claiming that the 11th series battery is 0.1V and that the 10th is 4.9v. This is patently false because I checked each series with my multimeter and every battery is roughly 4v. And we also can tell that the 10th and 11th series voltage is wrong because if you actually add every group up it should be about 77v (according to the reported voltages), but the total voltage is shown to be 80v, which means that each series is roughly at 4v.

Finally the app's own "CellLow" is shown to be 3.975V and not 0.110V, and the cell high is shown to be 4.069, not 4.99. The BMS won't charge and then out of the blue, maybe after a few minutes or more, it starts charging and when I look at the cell voltages, the 10th and 11th cells are now fine.

I've wired up as charge only, BTW. So NEG battery wire to B- on the BMS and CHG- to C- on the BMS.
Any ideas?

So I found the issue. It was a broken solder on that balance wire that was surrounded by heat shrink, so I couldn't tell the solder was broken, and that heat shrink SOMETIMES helped keep the connection. So when I tried to probe with the multi, the connection was fine, but as soon as I put the battery back and went for a ride, it would wiggle loose. Maybe I need to use clear heat shrink on all my connections :?:

The answer is no, I've tried on three different variants of the LTT BT BMS.

Disappointing, but thanks for the quick and straight answer!

thought 4G is down compatible?
No, separate frequencies, protocols, reception circuits

just that most decent comms modules are designed to accommodate all the standards that may be present.

And really this whole "GPS+mobile comms" topic is a derail

this thread is too diverse/dissipated to be useful as it is

Let's start a new thread for those aspects **please**

you are absolutely right, sorry
back to smart ANT BMS

I am following this thread because I ordered a 24s ANT
but after reading many pages here,
I am confused on all the models and makes that are out there
seems that the quality differs a lot

Yes, if only there were an easy identifier for

make / model / version# or production date range hardware / revision# firmware

and then shorter threads focussed on each separately.

Instead, need to read this whole mishmash thread, super inefficient
