I've been running my hub since September in rain and shine. I suspect that it is getting a bit noisier. Are there any maintenance procedures for these motors?
Could you give me the contact info/website of BMC USA?snowranger said:BMC USA told me that the V1 and V2 gears are the same size. The composite ones will work in the V1 but will be noisier. Seems okay to me as long as it doesn't break.

Anyone know if the new composite gears for V2 will work in the 400W V1 version and where to source? I'd also settle for 2 nylon and one steel I guess.
Are those torx screws securing the gears and what kind of grease is in there. Thanks.

I am in the process of trying to obtain the composite gears directly from BMC for Snowranger. I will get some extras in stock, and have them available. I will post again as soon as I have them in hand.
Just a note, I think that 30A at 48V is too much for the V1 motor. The max power I would recommend for the V1 motor is around 1,000W (i.e. 48V at 20A). They are not designed for more than that..... But for people using them within that range, we've not had any reports of blown gears yet...

The most I have seen with the watt-up is 1300 watts or 26 amps into the infineon controller, but yes, that is too much for the nylon gears over the long run. The hub has never gotten hot at all according to the temperature sticker, but I think that mechanical shock on acceleration did them in. Cycle9 has been very responsive in helping me out. Hopefully, these new gears will breathe new life in.
BTW, any one know the type of grease in there and what kind of screws are holding the gears on? I haven't been able to separate things far enough to get a good look.
