Anybody here have any experience with getting service and support out of http://www.BMCUS.COM?

In August, I spent $895 on BMC 48V 15AH LifePO4 battery from Comcycle USA, and at the end of November I started noticing a drop in performance. I bought this battery from Comcycle USA because they described the battery as, “Get domestic shipping, support, warranty and service. “ Comcycle referred me to BMC for support.

I am a complete NOOB at this Ebike thingy, so am I S.O.L. or is there hope?

I guess at this time a little insight to what is happening to my battery would help.

As I said, I have a BMC 48V 15AH LifePO4 (3C), and once I get close to the 10AH mark, my wattage drops, and at 11.5 ah I can only squeeze out 250 watts and I only get 41.5 v. At the peak, my bike can pull a peak of 24 amps. I have a 600W BMC hub with BMC controller, with this setup and a fresh battery, I can get 1,100 watts.

My commute rarely draws more than 12ah, and I’ve only been beyond 13ah a couple of times. And I’ve only deep cycled the battery before the performance drop twice. I have about 70 charge cycles on this battery.

I don’t have a clue what a bench test is, or who locally (Phoenix) might be able guide me thru the process.

Well, if you can't get support from the vendor or even solid replies to your emails, you are kinda on your own to deal with it so the next step is to whip out the digicam and show us what you got.. we go from there !

If you actually get 11ah before BMS cutout you may have a weak group of cells or the whole pack is fizzing out, only way to know is to check each cell ( or group of cells in series depending on if this is foil pouch, 18650 cells, etc.. )

FYI

If whenever possible us a credit card to buy. Document warranties. Then just simply notify your credit card and they will contact them. Most all card are like insurance extending warranties. It helps put a fire under some ass's.

I once bought an item for 4,500 it didn't turn out to have the support it was suppose too. They laughed when I said I wanted my money back and hung up on me. I called the credit card comp faxed them a copy of the warranty/guarantee and had my 4,500 back in half a day!!! 8)

I bet this lifepo4 pack was designed poorly; IE the cells are not correct spec for the load you are applying to them ( 1-2C in reality ) or you have a dead cell somewhere.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Next time you buy something, check out our reviews or reports on here. There is a lot of crap out there, sad as it may be, and BMC is certainly guilty of selling some unreliable stuff ( example: 50amp controller on a motor that cannot handle it in the least. )
