I recently realized there’s a whole slew of 24” wheel and even 26” wheel stout, steel, cheap bikes made (although almost none available right now and bikes are all bought up around the whole country). They seem great for converting to electric and bending their 110mm spacing to fit a hub wasnt hard with a threaded axle and nuts but they typically use 14mm axles. Anyone already make an adapter to mount a standard hub motor In a 14mm dropout? I designed one and was going to get a couple extra made.
The geometry is steep on bmx though

Maybe need a suspension fork with a big rake to be more relaxed angle on front

That’s an idea, but no I didn’t add that. Easy to add I guess but I find a v-brake good enough on the back.

Having the rear disk brake caliper mount also be a shim between the axle n frame..is maybe not a risk.

I sold my sram force hydraulic brake cyclocross bike and just got an old school v-brake bike. I never was able to adjust the hydraulic and even after I paid the bike store to adjust them the brakes would rub again within a week. V-brakes and kool-stop pads and they work great front and rear
I’ve had at least 40 bikes in my life and done enough miles to go round the earth multiple times. I’m as picky as possible at this point but v-brakes work fine. So do calipers. Only things I appreciate with disks are a really untrue wheel won’t effect brakes and one less thing to disengage when fixing a flat. Maybe if u ride in really bad weather and mud I can imagine it being worth it, to me.

Do your adapters by chance include a provision for mounting a rear disc caliper?

I could add It and get some sets made if u want if you give me a drawing of the caliper mount and where it needs to go. Or I can give u my shim design n u can add it.

I think I'll watch how your project goes. Maybe regen is enough in the rear.
