Bonafide Chinese NCR18650b, an oximoron?

Hi,

I'm evaluating building a couple of 13s9p pack and trying to find a supplier for about 250units. An Alibaba search yields with very promising results. However, I am uncertain of the authenticity from these suppliers. Thanks for any input.

Panasonic cells are perhaps the most commonly counterfeited.

However, new or counterfeit the NCR18650B remains one of the absolute worst choices for an EV battery pack.

I got a samsung pack for a decent alibaba seller. other people in europe got two packs from him. it took a month, there was a tracking error, lost in customs, stuff like that, one month later i got some fake cells caled ncr18650b made in china which was a 14ah pack instead of a 20ah. he gave me half the money back, i paid 290USD total for 48v 14ah, i should have claimed for more money, the pack was arranged with 400w maximum due to wire size and nearly melted. it's doing ok after 150 cycles. max output is about 1100w continuous at 54v. good batteries if you can get them for 1 dollar a peice.
