I thought I'd post this here. The hack is really easy, but finding the right parts was a pain. I went to the hardware store 20 times.

97mm wheels are probably too big, you loose speed going up steep hill. I bet mid 80s would be perfect. I have topped out at 31mph and the ride is much smoother.

The screws used were 2inch x 8/32. Cutting down the wheel was miserable. I used a hack saw then I mounted the wheel on the board and "lathed" down the rest.

what is exactly the size of that washer?

how much did you take off the wheel? 1/2 inch?

thanks dude

I cut off just under 1/2 inch off the width. I wish there were larger side cast wheels without the overhang.

The "quad" belts are there because I found Kevlar belts for $5 from a local vacuum repair guy, but they weren't wide enough, so I cut them down.

Lastly, the black strip on the nose and tail of my board is kydex, the thermo plastic they use for formed pistol holders. That's stuff is tough and cheap. It makes great custom nose and tail protectors.
