I bought a 48v 20ah lifepo4 from yaping on ebay, selling codd power packs. I'm having translation issues and am having a hard time getting my questions answered. Somehow he thinks I want a 3000w bms set at 60a continious. this is 3c discharge (if i'm correct) and is more than what I would think would be safe for the battery. Now, I have a infineon 40a controller. Would the bms be allowing too many amps to the controller and fry it, or would the controller regulate how many amps it draws by its capacity. Or does it work some other way. Basically i'm hoping a large bms will just give me the option to draw more amps, while actually limiting the amps with the controller. Oh I have a 1500w motor, I bought from the superkids. the connection for the hall sensor is different than what's on my controller but that's for a different post.

So the batt. came without a bms ? Please clean up your question. The batttery is 48v (56v) x 40amps draw from controller = 56x40=2240 watts. The controller is asking for 2240 watts from the battery and so on. You hammer the throlle and you will see a higher peak wattage. It sounds good to me that's a 60a bms and can take brusts of 80amps ? If you have a C.A. you can turn down the amps the controller will demand of the battery. Would like to know how you like this battery how much ?

the battery comes with a 30a bms, but can be upraded to either 45a or 60a. I wanted to standard 30 amp bms but with miscommunication I think i'm getting the 60 amp. If I won't harm any of the components (48v 20ah lifepo4- 40a infineon controller w/ regen- 1500 watt motor) than the 60 amp bms sounds like the way to go.

the battery, bms, and 15a charger!, bag cost 680$ out the door. the charger goes for $150 on ebay and has trickle setting, which I'll mostly use, as 15a seems an awful lot. It will be nice to completely charge it in about an hour if need be.

I had a 48v20ah 2c ping with a 30a bms blown 3 and went to 60a bms loved it. With 40amp. controller. Yes the controller limits the demand from the throlle to the motor. The bms limits the hvc and the lvc with cell balancing. Plus the amp. limit it will take from the battery. Don't know what kind of charger at 15a., 1000w ?
