Can someone tell me if my front fork can support disc brakes

Hi, I bought a new 2013 Electra Townie. My girlfiend's 2012 Townie has the fork mounts with two holes for the ISIS or some other adapter for the brake caliper.

But my 2013 model, only has 1 hole and some strange looking plug thing. I want to ask if this suspension fork is some kind of another mount standard that I don't know of? And whether or not I can buy that adapter so I can use a disc brake caliper?

Thanks

Not a brake mount, and I'm unaware of how to make one work. Fortunately, a low end fork with disk mount should be fairly easy to find.

I'd just throw some quality pads on the v brakes and done.

You could use the fender and acc. mounts to fit a custom brake bracket, if you are handy enough to make one out of 1/4 Alu plate. It would not be as stiff as a welded brake mount, but could do the job if you make it a tight fit.

Electra are making nice bikes, but most of them are not standard regarding dropout width, and lack proper brake mounts.

Nukezero I 2nd what ferret and dogman said: from that photo those look like fender mounts. No offense to madrino but please don't do what he/she suggests unless you really know what you're doing.

I'm guessing that's a Suntour fork, possibly XCT or N_X line. Some have disc mounts, some don't. To help you be sure you do/don't have them:
1. On the left side of the fork leg (when viewing in riding position), are there two threaded holes facing the same direction (likely about 50-75mm apart)? If so, you likely have disc capability. If not, 99% chance you don't.
2. On same side, near the fork arch, is there a little plastic clip that looks like it might hold a cable? If you do, you likely do have disc capability. If not, it doesn't mean much.

I checked it. i don't have any of that. So it looks like not disc brake compaible. Yes, its a suntour nex fork. But my girlfriend's last year's model fork is also suntour nex, but she has all the mounts. damn it!!

Again, it will be very cheap to replace that level of performance fork with one that has disk mounts. You just have to find one with a long enough steer tube. Ebay, Chain Reaction Cycles, etc.
