Charger Not Indicating Charging - Volts good. New/Old Battery - Charge longer?

I have 52v 24ah battery that’s new but hasn’t been installed/used in easily 15-20 months. Just got done changing connectors to xt60. Plug charger in wall and test volts, 56.7. Tested battery and it’s 51.6v.

Connected battery to charger and the led#2 light did not come on indicating charging. #1 led light that indicates power is on.

Could this be because the battery is full? Should I use the battery and then try charging?

Sitting for over a year I read now wasn’t ideal not charging it. However, multi meter listing its near capacity.

Proceed with some caution. If the battery has a BMS, they often continuously draw a small amount of current from the battery. Unfortunately, that current may only be drawn from one parallel group, instead of from the entire pack. If stored for a long period of time without occasionally charging the BMS can deplete the charge from that one group. When you plug in the charger, the BMS prevents charging if it senses a group that is dangerously low (below the LVC the BMS is set to).
You would need to open the pack and use a voltmeter to check the voltage of each group to get the status. If one group is below the LVC, but not severely e.g. 0v), you may be able to charge that one group to get it above the LVC, so you can use your charger to charge the pack. You’d want to do both of those things outside for safety.
If you need to know how to check the voltages, there are a few threads discussing that. Basically it involves disconnecting the BMS harness and checking and writing down, the voltages between the pins.

Thanks for the reply. I’m leaning toward sourcing a new 52v 22ah or greater battery. This is an UPP battery, rectangle blue pack. I don’t really have the time now with work (school year starting) now and two little kids. I was hoping to ride it for a bit and see if draining it and then charging might help. Then again, $800 gets a nice looking 52v 24ah form Em3 plus there charger. The piece of mind and not burning my garage is a nice thought.
