Chinese controller to power chinese motor

Hello guys,

I plan to buy this motor https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32814323134.html (1500w - 48v).

For speed purposes, I'll power it with a 72V battery (20s).

Few questions here : Is there any risk to use a 72V battery instead of a 48V?

They recommend using a 18mosfets 1500W 48V controller, which controller should I use if I go for 72V? 72V 2000W (so the phase/battery currents remains the same?).

Anyone can recommend some "cheap" chinese controller? The controller they sell is quite expensive, 100$, I wanna find a less expensive one ;)

I asked the seller if there is any risk to use a 20s battery instead of a 14s, they told me I'd damage the motor this way, max is 14s.

Not very sure about the trueness of that answer, seems like a commercial trick to sell they 72v kit (expensive though).
 
The 72V is not the problem. It's the amps that will heat up the motor. So if you dial down the amps then it should run fine on 72V. What is your intended outer tire diameter and needed top speed?
 
Well, 17inch inner diameter and I Guess 22inch or 24 outer diameter.

I aim 65kph top speed
 
According to the seller it is a 35mm height stator/magnet motor so the 1500W seem legit. They say it does 600rpm @ 48V so that would give appr. 66km/h with a 23" outer diameter tire unloaded. It will then probably do around 60km/h top speed riding on flat surface.

Read and ask there what the limits for voltage and amps are.

So, I can read max Amps at 48v:

Max Pout 2948w : 86,56A
Max torque : 91A

If I set the max phase current to 56A it should be fine in terms of heating ? (91A x (48v/72v) = 56A) .
 
If you ride the top speed on 72V once in a while and not continuous then it will be fine. If you want to use the motor up to it's limits then get ferrofluid (statorade) plus a temp sensor in the motor and maybe add HubSinks. That way you can run much closer to the limit safely without damaging anything. Again: join the thread I linked to and they will be able to help you further.
