Chinese E-Grom 72V to 60V?

I have a 72V Chinese E-Grom style bike and my battery pack went bad (6 12v batteries). I have 5 good batteries and my controller (says 60v or 72v on the label) has the option to plug in a loop wire for it to operate on 60V - Can I simply do this and run a 60V system with the 5 batteries? Just want to get back on the road temporarily as I need the bike for transportation. And what will the side effects be (I guess lower top speed and less range?).

Are you using a BMS or are you depending on the controllers for low voltage cut off?.
As you say lower voltage mean lower speed.
Ranger is more dependent on battery AH capacity

No BMS, Controller controls the cutoff on this bike.

Probably equal or better range, because speed and maximum wattage will be lower.
