Chopper / bobber morphs into a recumbent!

The weather has been perfect this week which inspired me to take a couple nice evening rides on this bike. Not long or fast, just cruising around town at speeds low enough to be able to hear the birds and people over the wind noise (20 MPH and below). The bike is very enjoyable for this kind of riding. It glides through rough roads and potholes, and over the hills.

The Ping is amazingly hanging in there after 6 years. It had about 3 rough years of high speed commuting duty and has been in a semi-retired state for the past 3 years. I have been pretty good about charging it every month or two when I'm not riding as well as and after riding it. For this cruiser bike it works great and I was able to ride for over an hour at around 20 MPH with light pedaling without seeing it sag below 40V. Its kind of scary seeing it do that knowing that LVC should be around 44V for this pack, but at the end of the ride the voltage still bounced back to 52V every time I let off the throttle. On my next ride I need to reset the CA before the ride to see how many AH this battery still has, just for curiosities sake. Because I am bypassing the BMS on the discharge side I will have to keep an eye on the CA to decide when it is "empty".
