I have just fitted a new longheng itrlligence controller, but there is no response from the throttle, there is about 5volts coming from two of the three controller throttle wires,i thought only one should be live, there is also a three speed control wire coming from the controller,i was wondering if maybe this needs connecting up to make it work, there is also what is supposed to be a self learning mode wire, which makes the motor turn at around 10mph no load if I connect it,so I cannot see why there is no response from the throttle.

The controller is ebay number 191579557572,it also shows the wiring connectors on the ebay add,the motor I am trying to connect to is an ezee torq 2 motor.

Normally, you have to disconnect the white wires after completing the self-learning procedure.

The three-speed switch has no bearing on your problem. It only controls the maximum speed. With nothing connected you get normal operation. Connect the black to one of the other two and you get either restricted speed (15 mph) or a slight boost (sensor mode only). Connect the black to the other wire and you get a slight boost or restricted operation , i.e. one wire is boost and the other restricted.

Thanks d8veh,at the moment I have just the battery, hall sensors connected, and the motor sensors connected,im getting 4.9volts from the yelo throttle wire, and 4.3 volts from the red throttle wire with the throttle unconnected, does that sound right, should any of the other wires be connected or shorted to make it work.

Any pictures you can show of the wiring would be helpful.

A couple things I would check:

1. If the controller has an "Ignition wire" (thin red), ensure it is connected to battery+. Controller needs a signal on this wire to function.

2. If throttle is cheapo chinese throttle, ensure its connector has the same pin-set as the controller. I've encountered several throttles that have had red/green flipped at the connector.

Are you using a CA or any other interface? Some controllers and interfaces have settings to wait for peddle input, or to only allow throttle after reaching a minimum speed...did your kit come with a speedometer pickup?

Here are some wiring pics,no cycle analyst is fitted, the small red wire is connected, and the wheel does spin forwards with the learning wire connected,so I presumed everything was connected ok,i have tried swapping the throttle wires around.

You only need to connect the motor phase and hall wires, the battery and the throttle. Check that the colours match on both sides of the throttle and hall wires. If you have approx 5v on the red throttle wire, the controller is powered, so no problem with the ignition wire.

Before you can use the controller, you have to do the self-learning procedure, which means:

Switch off
Connect the white wires
Switch on
Open the throttle a bit
The wheel should then start turning by itself after a couple of false starts
Switch off
Disconnect the white wires
Switch back on and everything should work normally.

Do not leave the blue cruise wires connected unless you like to crash.

Hi...i am new to this forum. I do not have much experience regarding your case but as per my knowledge the three-speed switch has no bearing on your problem. It only controls the maximum speed. With nothing connected you get normal operation. Connect the black to one of the other two and you get either restricted speed (15 mph) or a slight boost (sensor mode only). Connect the black to the other wire and you get a slight boost or restricted operation.

Finalyl got the controller working,so if anybody else buys a longheng controller from hercolour,it works by connecting the throttle to what is supposed to be, the low brake four pin connector, connect black green and red and ignore the blue wire, what is supposed to be the throttle connector does not work.
