I was curious about these motors on the crystalyte website. This is the e-mail i recieved from Kenny at crystalyte.

Hi Richard,

I do not have H3560 and H3580 in stock.

But there are some stock at Power CyclesHi <hipowercycles@gmail.com> in US.

Please contact with Chris for ordering information.

Kind Regards

I already have a bike from HPC that i am very satisfied with. I thought i would share this information for anyone that is interested in these motors.

Dont be confused by this H3560 & H3580 business.
Likely a H3540(10X6 wound), given more volts&amps(72v 40/65amps).
Dont pay more for a H3580 than a H3540. Just a naming scheme.
K.C.C. (Kenny causing confusion.)

The H4080 on the other hand may be a different beast.
@ minimum a case improvement.

Kenny was obviously wrong about not having any 3580's in stock
He said that after placing the order it will take one to two days to make the motors and it will take 3-5 days to air ship the motors to the US.
hmmmmmmmmm :?:
I also talked to him about the 4080, same deal. If you need motor dimensions pm me, I'll send you what kenny sent me. He also said the 4080 will out accelerate the 3580 because of more torque.

As far as I am concerned the 3580 is not a similar motor to the 3540. I get a MAX speed of 40 mph on the flats at 78 volts after some voltage sag from 84 . However with the 3560 I would not be surprised if it was just the 3540 with a new badge on it. In this case the 3560 is the naming scheme being that 40 mph is 60 kph...
HIgh power cycles is what got me to email kenny about the 3580's. They are just ridiculously over pricing it to $650. Thats without the controller. No thanks.

haha is that rich dude supposed to be Kenny?
I think I get what you are pointing at lol

Thats funny-

I wonder how many accusations of working for someone else to get the record ???

You could probably throw in Drbass too, since i posted some really nice pics of his torque arms on my bike-

im just saying.....

At that price, just get a cromotor.

It may be the same weight as the 40mm HS/HT anyway. And you won't have to fix crystalyte's engineering flaws after you get it.. just sayin ;D

$650 is just High power Cycles over inflated price they put on stuff, as I am sure you know. I can't imagine HPC selling a product that is fairly priced, to tell you the truth.

I know :) It's basically a low speed winding version of the 35 HT. It's got fatter phase wires and maybe something else they won't talk about, but still the same form factor, and i will put my money on the same copper fill.

If you want the effect of this lower speed motor, run a HT in a 20 inch wheel and you will have a similar effect. Or just get a Magic pie, which, honestly... may handle roughly the same continuous power due to it's increased diameter and heat shedding capability.

Can't believe they are asking that kind of money for this motor though, when both the cromotors are gonna be notably better at a lower cost.

HPC is like apple... sell the sizzle, not the steak.

baha! I was trying to make a camparison as good as that one.
If there was a famous quote page that should be on the quotes page
I think the H4080 will be a good compromise between torque and speed. And would probably beat the living crap out of the 3580 in a drag race because of the higher torque and (hopefully) better heat sinking capabilities.

Well, wider magnets and more copper never hurts

I don't think the heat sinking is any better, there is just lower resistance in the coils, and that is a big deal.
The case on the HT/HS is rather small and will not shed heat very well. What they really need is a super tall stator like the magic pie or 9C 1606 motor. Those motors are fantastic at shedding heat.

Or you run it in a tiny wheel and drill the daylights out of the covers, then it is a real beast.

Lower resistance is good enough for me :D I'm sold. Get a higher KV and most likely the same amount of torque and I'll be happy to get up to my 40mph cruising speed faster and I still have 10-15 more mph head room to speed things up, if needed.

That extra 10-15mph headroom actually requires something more along the line of the cromotor. Maybe the 54xx can do it continuously, but i am not sure.

Haha maybe you misread my post. I was talking about cruising at 40 mph not 50. lol cruising at 40 would give the extra head room needed. Right? :?
Your confusing me man!

I was just looking at your signature while researching hs3540 - I am going to build similar onto khs too. Do you have any pics of yours? I'm interested in model of bike, how the brakes fit and your bag etc.

Ive done alot of modding since this thread. The bike is a KHS-104, upgaded brakes to 203mm hydro( on the rear the caliper has to be shaved and some modding so as not to hit the motor screws. tires=2.5 hookworms, DRbass torque plates. 12fet lyen w 2x shunt mod running 78v nom 88fully charged and set to 50 amps.

Love it man thanks a lot.

How is that battery box constructed and mounted? Do you have any pictures of it opened up so I can see the way the batteries are positioned and connected?

I am still negotiating between that motor or crown if it fits or hs3565 if they exist where I can them. My drawn build thread with my constantly failing cheap kit thread is here if you are interested. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=49136&start=125

thanks

Thanks,

The panels are screwed together closing tight on the frame. I would probably take it apart , but ive had so good luck with the bike right now. I have had no problems whatsoever, its been plug and play for almost 1000 miles. I can cay there is 3 - 7s= 25.9 10ah batteries inside. 2 of them on a tray and one velcroed to the top of the bottom frame tube. I think i could change the frame battery to a 10s. But like i said i dont want to jinx anything. 78v at 50 amps i can go faster than the posted speed limits so i think its fine.

Good luck with your build, It will always be some trial and error till you get it just the way you like. Hopefully sooner than later!
