Hi,

Trying to find out if anyone knows of a single speed conversion for Crystalyte H35 series. I'd like to find a 11T cog if possible but a 14T will do.

Does anyone know the thread dimensions for the freewheel? The Specs say M35x1 which seems like an odd size.

Thanks, Chris

You will not find a 11t, but you could make one out of a multi-gear freewheel by cut and mod. Yet a good freewheel should be better, and don't forget that you might need to pedal the bike unpowered eventually. Best freewheels can be opened for servicing, and they are much more expansive. I am using White industries Freewheels.

Those White freewheels look all the trick. Too bad the smallest cog is 16T. I currently run a 54T chain ring and the 14T cog on the freewheel. I'm pretty comfortable with the cadence at 25mph. But I'm planning on building my next bike from an old Schwinn Typhoon frame. The largest chain ring I could find for it was 52T and I'm not sure it will even fit yet. I'm not too interested in converting the Schwinn to a 7-speed with derailleur so the cassette must go.

With a 52T Chain Ring and 16T freewheel I think my max non-sprint peddle speed would be lowered to 18mph. Maybe not a bad idea for a Schwinn.
