cuts in my battery pack wiring

I was checking out my new lifebatt pack closer yesterday and noticed that there are cuts in the wiring. They aren't very big, but they do go all the way through the insulation. Would I be able to just tape these up, or should I re-wire the pack?
edit: The main problem that I see is that the cut is in the exact same place on the positive and negative wires, so the chances of shorting are higher.

No, I have't even mounted them in the frame yet. I held them up in the frame, but never mounted them. I just got around to carefully inspecting them since I bought them last week. It doesn't appear that the cuts go into the actual wires, just the insulation.

Hi Jay,

I'm the one that sold you the pack. I didn't see those cuts when I sent the pack, but it's possible that I could have missed them. They look pretty small. There was another cut, which is bigger, up near the end of the positive wire. I taped that one as you can see. The cuts actually came from the wires getting pinched between the G10 case on the battery and the cardboard shipping box I think. At least that's the best guess I had. The battery arrived with that cut when I got it from Gary. That's why I taped the wires to the battery when I shipped it to you (and added extra padding). I was eventually going to replace the wires anyway, because I wanted longer leads....but I never got that far in my project.

I hope it's not too much of a PITA for you. If so, contact me offline and we'll straighten it out.

Hi Dave, no it isn't a PITA for me at all. The cuts were pretty hard to find, I think I only saw them because I moved the wire into an exact position while looking in an exact way. Yeah, they are really small cuts, if you notice, I have to kind of bend them to be able to see them in the pic. I'm not complaining that they are there, just trying to figure out the best way to fix it. Yeah, you did a real good job packing the pack up for shipping. They were still secured with the tape when I got it. Actually, I never took the tape off until recently to take pics of the connectors to figure out which ones to get, and that is probably another reason that I didn't notice the cuts earlier.

I had one cut in a small black wire to the individual cell in my Lifebatt pack. Was not bad so I taped it.
