Cycle Analyst V3 speed limit adjustment

1 Hold left button until you enter setup.
2 Press right button 4 times (i think).
3 When meter displays "setup speed lims" press and hold right button
4 Adjust the first digit (right button increases, left button decreases) press and hold right button to move to the next.
5 Adjust subsequent digits as before.
6 When limit is set press right button repeatedly to exit setup

If you are still limited to 12 mph you might want to check your power limits. They are found in the same way, I think they are the next option after "setup speed lims" If this all checks out and you are using the CA to throttle the controller ie: the throttle plugs into the CA not the controller. You might want to look at your throttle in and throttle out settings. You may be sending insufficient voltage to the controller to achieve full throttle.

Hope this helps
Tony

Thanks for the information Tony.

I already changed the speedometer settings, and played with throttle settings as well with no change.
The CA plugs into the controller and the throttle has its own connection to the controller.

I have E-Mailed Paul at EM3EV were the kit came from, and he is going to send me a list of the settings he programed in to the CA for my combination.

I might get the earlier CA for its simplicity and long track record.

Thanks again,

Jim

With a V3 the throttle plugs into the CA....

You will need to plug in the throttle properly and either restore the settings from Paul, or make new settings according to the Guide.

Thanks again Tony,

I read the instructions again and indeed the throttle is to be connected to the CA. I connected my throttle to the CA and now all I have is very low power to the wheel.
The recommended values from Paul should be here next week and I will program them in the CA.

I am inclined to remove The CA alltogether due to its complexity. Might be to much for this old guy.

Will Advise

Thanks for the help

Well - don't give up. We know the hardware is installed properly from Paul, so you just need some judicious tweaking.

I recommend that you:
  • Download the Setup Doc from here and print it. Then go through *ALL* of setup and record your settings so you can undo any whoops! things that occur.
  • Download the Guide and follow sections 3.5 through 3.7. You will be setting this up for 'normal' mode. It looks scary, but it really is only a few adjustments that go pretty quickly. Just go slowly and don't skip or change any steps.
This should get you going. You can compare the results with Paul's settings next week. He is probably using a slightly different throttle mode.
Update you settings document accordingly.

In any case, post back - I'm sure we can get this on the air instead of abandoning the unit....

Thanks Teklektik for the advise, sorry about confusing you with Tony.
I have the manual printed and will give it a shot.

I noticed that you have a Yuba Mundo cargo bike, funny, mine is a Juiced Riders pedal version that I converted to get the torque of a 20 inch wheel.
A Mac 8T and 48 volts works good for hill climbing with no pedaling. I am unable to pedal because of disability issues.

I will let you know as I progress.

Thanks again

Jim
