How fast are you going? My ebike only goes about 20mph and thats enough for what I do with it. I just got a cheap cree headlight with handle bar mount on amazon for 20 bucks. Not the best quality construction but its 240 lumen high level is adequate for what I do with it. Obviously if your doing technical riding at 40 mph its not going to cut it. Two might though lol. The release clip is crap so just glue the light in there
How much is the light your looking at? any links to sellers?

This will be used on my Li-Ion powered electric scooter which is capable of 22-24 MPH. I don't ride very often at night, but when I do I like to not only BE SEEN, I like to SEE where I am going as well.
Over the years I have collected several inexpensive AA powered bike lights (for emergencies) and although they technically meet the legal requirement of having a headlight to Be Seen by others, they are virtually useless when it comes to shedding enough light to actually SEE where you are going if you are not on a road with street lights.
I also have a 10 year old Niterider Classic Plus dual beam light system that fits my rides well, and is fairly bright at 51,700 CP or approximately 218 Lumens, and was the light of choice for many Police Departments bicycle divisions. But they are bulky and heavy at around 900 gr which is just over 2 pounds. Because my Nitrider is 10 years old the run time is getting shorter and shorter, and it will no longer last as long as my scooter batteries do, so the last part of a night ride is pretty dim. A new battery for the Classic is $150.
While looking for deals on batteries and or a whole new light system I ran across the Cygolite 250 and liked the idea of such a compact and easy to charge completly self contained light. Yesterday I found one on sale for $109 (usually $139) so I ordered one.
It has 250 Lumen's which is approximately the same light output of my Niterider with both beams on but is MUCH lighter, and has equal or more Lumens than many of the rechargeable lights that are available. It has 6 different light levels, and even on HIGH this Cygolite should last much longer than my scooter batteries will. It takes about 5 hours to recharge, which is on par with most of the rechargeable lights.
It comes with mounts for the bars and for a Helmet, and can easily be removed from either mount to be used as a hand held flashlight and or to charge it up, and it can be charged using a wall socket OR any USB port. At only 130 gr. it should be light enough to use on a Helmet without making you feel like a bobble head.
