OK so I have the DC-4S, it plugs into the balance connector and NOT the main leads. It acts as a charge monitor when not powered by a power supply.
When I power the motors, I have my 2x 4S batteries wired in series. When I charge the 2 batteries I disconnect them from series.
QUESTION:
Could I leave the DC-4S plugged into the balance lead while the two 4S batteries are connected in series? Or will that frock it up? Will the current of the other battery mess with the DC-4S connected battery? Or are the balancer leads connected in way where they are only reading and charging the battery they are connected to? Does that make sense? Is the DC-4S "smart" enough to only read the voltages of the battery it's connected to, without the "serialized" battery interfering? Thanks,
BTW, the readout cycles between the voltage of each cell, then the total voltage.
I am hoping to be able to have two DC-4Ss permanently connected to each 4S battery to use as a voltage monitor and easy charger without disconnecting between rides. I know, I know...just buy an 8S charger. But I like these little $10 4S chargers!
