DFKZ Ss2 - Sevcon Gen4 Rebrand?

I came across this DFKZ Ss2 motor controller in a Chinese e-scooter. I can't find any online references to it.

The external similarities with a Sevcon Gen4 Size 4 (72 to 80V DC) are obvious. Opening it reveled a Sevcon branded PCB, the layout and assembly quality appears to be Sevcon material. Motor performance and sound looks like powered by Sevcon.

Any ideas about its origin and price tag?

Hi, this is of Chinese origin, we have also analysed a sample. Comparing with Sevcon original, the PCB and SMT appears original, but the DC link capacitors are smaller and lower voltage - 100V, so marginal on an 80V design. Also, the thermal interface material is different, which explains why MOSFETs get hotter quicker, and why we blew up the unit on a full power test. Cost, you get what you pay for, I wouldn't risk these versus the reliable proven authentic Sevcon units
