Disconnecting Speed Limiter

I have a rear hub 36v 10ah 500w ebike and it’s my first one. The top speed is 33km/h, but if I disconnect the speed limiter it will reach 40km/h. I’ve only tried this for an hour of biking, then I reconnected the wire. So what I’m wondering is if it’s ok to keep it disconnected all the time or will it strain anything? The only issue I had was that the battery doesn’t last as long.

It should be fine.

As for less range is normal. The faster you go the less range you will have.
