Considering that cars tend to pass closer to a bicycle when one is wearing a helmet than not, then maybe a human looking helmet would be a good idea? Get the additional benefit of people thinking you don't have a helmet AND the protective benefit of actually having one on!

Or better yet, just wear a female's wig over a helmet. Females are given more clearance on average.

I wish they had a pic of someone wearing one, I'd be curious to see how the person and the helmet mesh.
