Chinese battery specialist Dynavolt has this week opened its new lithium battery production plant in Fujian, southern China.

The fab has been built at an investment cost of €400 million and boasts an annual production capacity of 6 GWh, which – according to Dynavolt calculations, is enough to produce 200,000 electric vehicle batteries per year.

Solely lithium-based, the facility was constructed using equipment and machinery supplied from South Korea and Japan, and the fab can pump out 200 units per minute. Dynavolt already has 6 GWh annual lithium battery production capacity in Hubei, and aims to reach 25 GWh capacity by 2020.
