Hi. I think this might have been answered somewhere else, but couldn't find one with my sucky search skill.
I'm building a 14S pack with lipo batteries. Now I have my batteries and BMS, but still have no clue how I should connect all of these.
Spot welding: The seller of the batteries told me that the tabs cannot be spot welded unless the surface is grinded. I also don't have a spot welder, and welding extra tab to solder balancing wires will be another pain in the neck.
Soldering: Can't find out a way to solder the tabs properly without doing additional works.
Bolts and nuts: Seems promising, but punches I have don't seem to sturdy enough to make holes on those tabs.
So I'm thinking of clamping down the tabs, using things like clips and spacers. I could fold down two tabs, wires and spacers altogether, and then clamp them with a tight clip. Then it will be finished with either kapton or electric tape.
While it seems easier than the proved methods above, I'm not sure if it is safe enough. Has anyone tried this?
