Hello all,

I’d like to apologise for not introducing myself in the newby thread but I am a
Desperate man. I’ve tried everywhere to get an answer to this and have had no
Joy anywhere….well here goes……

I’ve just acquired an electric bike (powacycle Milan) original not the (2)
Everything works well except: the 3 nylon sprockets located in the rear
Hub that are connected to the motor and drive the rear wheel.
All 3 have shredded all their teeth and obviously are just slipping and not driving
So they need to be replaced.

Q1: Can I get replacement nylon sprockets?

Q2: If not, can I get a new motor? which will obviously come with the sprockets

Q3: And if any of the above is possible? Can someone tell me where? And what
Sort of money I can expect to pay?

Q4: Would the more modern (powacycle Salisbury or Windsor) motor be compatible? Or does anyone know of another?

I live in England, East Anglia

I believe the specs for the motor are: 24 volt, 200w and battery: 8AH Ni-Mh?

Many thanks in advance for any advice

Hi Fox,

any reason you havent looked into having some machined? i'd check it out and go for steel replacements, the nylons are known to give up on a regular basis.
If you know the teeth are shot i take it you've seen them? if so get a picture up and put a rule in the shot, you may get lucky, i kow teamhybrid have some if their the same size as the bmc motors?
Post it up and i'll try to help you out, jozzbikes has a load of gear and may have some spare - give me the dimensions and i'll see if i can help you out?

Cheers,

D

Cheers NUTS and DEECANIO,

Have since had a comprehensive email off “powacycle” the bottom
Line seems to be a new motor and controller “my ones no longer manufactured”
£160 doh! Just for the sake of 3 nylon sprockets. Seems like e bikes technology
is moving even quicker than computers.
Deecanio…..I will look into the “manufacture some new sprockets” theory.
I'll have to wait till the weekend, and i'll try and get them off of the motor to measure and photo

Thanks again guys “just for the record “nuts” I did prior to this post go on the powacycle website to email them, but couldn’t find a mail address, and when you sent
The link that took me to the same page? I suddenly saw it!!”

Cheers Fox

There are now several other different sized motors in regular use on this forum. These include, but are not limited to Bafang, Fusin and BMC. All have good dealer support which possibly could help if you can provide proper measurement of your gears. I look forward to the pictures. This doesn't even count Stock Drive Products which has a huge selection of gears.
