Electric Car Speeding Ticket geo metro!!

this morning i discovered a great story about a guy, Ben Nelson, that had a ticked for speed while he tested his electric car.. but something unatempted happened in court! :wink:

Seems to me that 15 mph zones are usuallly for pretty good reasons. School zones, really dangerous corners, and maybe in this case a pretty weak bridge? Amazingly, many cops ticket people who actually deserve the ticket.

I lived in Oconomowoc for a number of years and just moved from there last summer. The area is pretty nice with a number of lakes. Around the lakes the roads are often 15mph and it is enforced. Some of this is because the folks who live on the lakes are pretty well off and no doubt have some pull with the fuzz but also because they tend to use the road between their property and the lakeshore as part of their yard almost oblivious to anyone actually using the road as a road.

This guy in the story I'm sure is aware of the limits and should get no special treatment because he has an electric car. The people who contributed to his "defense fund" are very foolish.
