Cycle trucks are a little unusual but I've been seeing more companies offer them lately so maybe they're making a comeback of sorts. They've been around forever. Anyway, my buddy Dale Saso has been building his own for years now. I had the honor of helping him to electrify his. I provided the controller and cute motor. He has since purchased and installed a bafang motor (even though there wasn't anything wrong with the cute). Here's a little video tour of what we did...

The cycle truck has a lot of potential as an electric vehicle. Hauling even big heavy SLAs isn't a problem. The front platform is attached to the frame of the bike which gives the very strange sensation that the front basket is just floating in front of you. If someone was so inclined, there is also tons of space to store batteries in the frame. With all the utility, this bike rides as well as any bicycle.
